Introduction to Bird Taxidermy

taxidermy class near me

This is a two-day workshop created for beginners with no experience required.

The class will go through each step of the bird taxidermy process for a closed wing mount on European Starlings. We will cover specimen preparation, skinning and fleshing, recording measurements, putting the bird together, and positioning feathering of the piece. Each person will leave with their own taxidermied starling they completed, a step-by-step workbook, and the hands-on experience to help them practice the craft on their own. Tools will be supplied in class.

Each day is about 5-6 hours of instruction starting at 10am, a short lunch break around 1pm, and be done at 5pm at the latest.

With only four students per class, this workshop is dedicated to making sure each student has ample instruction throughout the process. Students come away with a new admiration for birds from a different perspective. 18 and up, unless guardian participates in the class alongside the youth.

All new class dates will be announced on Instagram or posted in the Store. Please email to be added to the waitlist.
