Pet Services

The grief of losing your pet is part of the contract we know going into our relationships with our animals.  I am often contacted during this period of grief, with people looking to help preserve the memory of their dearly beloved pet. As much as I would love to offer this service, there is another local business that has exceptional after life care for your treasured pet. I refer pet owners to Resting Waters as they offer support for grieving families and environmentally responsible after death preservation options.

To try to bring the life and energy of your pet through taxidermy takes an exceptional amount of time and skill which is why most taxidermists do not offer this service.

Found a bird

The Migratory Bird Treaty prohibits you from taking birds or bird parts into possession. I suggest reading the treaty and the history of why we need this law to protect our wildlife. If you see a dead hawk on the road, or a dead songbird under a windowpane it is illegal for you to keep any part of it. In addition, it is illegal to keep found wildlife or roadkill without a proper permit in the state of Washington. Custodio Taxidermy does not respond to illegal requests and does not offer feedback on how to obtain permits.

Learning Taxidermy

First of all, I am so excited for your interest in learning this fascinating process where science meets art! I currently do not offer apprenticeships. Through my years as a student, I understand the difference between a highly educational experience and one that is lacking in depth and substance. Workshops will be announced here.
